7月17日，黄石新港二期工程11-13#、21-23#泊位（水工建筑物）顺利通过湖北省交通厅交工验收本次交工验收质量检测整体得分在湖北省水运工程中名列前茅
交工验收会上，验收组集中审议后一致认为，黄石新港二期工程6个泊位水工建筑物满足《水运工程质量检验标准》（JTS257-2008）的合格标准，同意工程交工验收并现场签署了《港口交工验收证书》
据悉，黄石新港二期工程水工泊位于2018年12月28日正式开工，建设过程严把质量关、优化安全管理、严格审核工程变更、控制工程造价，同时克服了新冠疫情、长江汛期、高温酷暑等重重困难，仅用一年时间就建成6个5000吨级泊位（水工结构满足10000吨级船舶靠泊）以及装卸设备等，为新港新增1000万吨/年的装卸能力，进一步提升新港综合吞吐和辐射能力，为盐田港实现长江战略布局再添新动力，助推黄石市加快建设“现代港口城市”
