3月4日，为支援香港抗击疫情，保障深港两地跨境生活生产物资运输稳定，盐田港集团深港跨境货源海铁保障专线正式启动运行，首批供港应急物资（新型冠状病毒抗原检测试剂盒）通过海铁保障专线实现水路运输
根据市政府《深港跨境运输货源组织专班工作方案》的指示精神，盐田港集团积极推动深港跨境运输方式从陆运向水运方式转型，以保障香港地区产业链、供应链和生活必需品的供应稳定
针对中港驳船缺箱、缺仓和香港端对接配送等瓶颈问题，盐田港集团集结港口、铁路和驳船等优势资源，通过海铁多式联运，从省内外紧急调配首批500TEU铁路空箱，并与香港驳船和运输等公司接轨，实现统一调配、信息共享和功能合并，成功实现深港跨境水路全程一站式服务，开辟了一条深港跨境货源海铁资源共享的保障通道
