自6月6日接受任务后，集团高度重视，成立了以孙波同志为组长的应急工程专班，由建设管理中心具体实施，各职能部门全力配合；9日，翡翠岛广场改造方案通过相关政府部门审查；10日，承包商进场施工；16日，完成一、二层标准厢房共187间；22日，完成三、四层标准厢房共188间及配套卫浴厢房80间

施工过程中，集团领导多次到现场督办，安委办、审计部等职能部门深入现场指导；建管中心集合全部工程管理人员，统筹中建科工集团、东鹏监理等相关单位，日夜赶工24小时作业，三方管理人员24小时轮班值守，在确保防疫安全、施工安全的前提下，抓落实、推进度、保质量；盐田区住建局及工程质量安全监督中心每天现场检查监督，盐田区卫健局每两天组织现场核算检测，盐田国际、特区建发集团等单位给予了很大支持
翡翠岛广场防疫应急改造工程及时交付使用，对盐田港区全面恢复正常生产，解决船舶滞港和通航安全问题起到积极作用
